SHERIF CARARAH

Head of Brokerage
As Head of Brokerage at EFG Hermes, Mr. Cararah has managed the placement of numerous high profile IPOs and led the growth of the firm’s regional brokerage franchise. Before joining EFG Hermes, he was manager of the Egyptian British Bank’s Corporate Banking Division. Mr. Cararah began his career at Commercial International Bank’s (CIB) Corporate Banking Group before serving from 1991 to 1994 in the Credit and Private Banking divisions of the United Saudi Commercial Bank (KSA). Mr. Cararah holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Ain Shams University, Cairo. 
 

Sherif holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Ain Shams University, Cairo.

SEIF FIKRY

Head of Brokerage UAE and Oman 
Seif joined in February 1997 and has held a number of key positions within the Financial Brokerage Group (FBG), the firms institutional brokerage arm, including Head of the Institutional Desk. Under him, the team in Cairo received the Institutional Investor Best MENA Strategy and Sales Team in 2002, as well as a Reuters award going to Seif as Chief Trader in 2001. EFG Hermes also won Euromoney's Best Equities House in Egypt for the year 2004. 

Seif  holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the American University in Cairo.

MOHAMED EBEID

Head of Western Institutional Sales
Mohamed joined in November 1999 as Retail Broker with the Hermes Securities Brokerage Division, transferring to institutional sales in 2004. His tasks on the Institutional Sales desk include both relationship management and trading: He actively trades on both domestic and international stock markets in a range of products that include equity, fixed income, mutual funds and hedge funds.

Mohamed holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from the Faculty of Commerce at Ain Shams University in Egypt. He has also completed level two of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) degree.  

SAMEH ASRAN

Head of Trading
Sameh heads the Trading Desk of EFG Hermes and has held this position since 2002. He joined EFG Hermes in August 1998 as the Head of the Trading desk at Hermes Securities Brokerage. He enjoys ten years of experience in the Egyptian Equity Market. He has headed Trading desks in a number of companies prior to joining EFG Hermes. 

Sameh holds a BA degree in Social Work from the University of Helwan.

AHMED TAWFIK

HSB Managing Director
Ahmed is currently HSB Managing Director. He joined the group in February 1997 as part of the operation team. He enjoys seven years of experience in the field of operation. 

Ahmed holds a BA in Economics from the American University in Cairo 1997.

MOHAMED EL WAKEEL

Head of Operations - Egypt
Mohamed is currently the Head of Operations of thr  Financial Brokerage Group; he joined the company in March 2000 as a part of the operations team and began his career in the banking sector with HSBC Bank for three years prior his departure to FBG. 

Mohamed holds a BA Degree in Business Administration from the faculty of commerce Ain Shams University.

AHMED ABDEL LATIF

Head of Operations - KSA
Ahmed is currently the head of operations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Prior to that, he was the operations manager of Hermes Securities Brokerage in Egypt. He joined the company in May 96. He began his career in the banking sector with Arab National Bank.  

Ahmed holds BA Degree in Accounting from the faculty of commerce Cairo University.

ABDEL-WAHAB MOHAMED

Operations Manager - UAE
Abdel-Wahab  joined EFG Hermes in September 1998 as part of the operations team. He is currently the Operations Manager of the brokerage arm in the UAE office, which is licensed on the Dubai International Financial Exchange, Dubai Financial Market and Abu Dhabi Securities Market.  

Abdel-Wahab  holds a BSC degree in Economics from the faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University.

AYMAN EL BAZ

Head of Retail Brokerage
Ayman joined late in 2006 to lead retail brokerage. He is tasked with the development and management of the brokerage business in the retail sector, as well as the sales and marketing of the online business. Prior to joining, he was CEO of the distribution business at Raya, covering Raya Distribution; Sama Distribution; Raya Algerie; Best Service; as well as 35 retail outlets in Egypt and five more in Algeria. 

Ayman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics and Communications from Cairo University.

MAMDOUH EL BAZ

Head of Online Trading
Mamdouh joined late in 2006 to lead the Online Trading Business. He has a strong background in the Egyptian IT sector and has been a founder and leader in a number of IT companies. Prior to joining, he has founded ProSyLab Information and Communication Systems, a leading IT system integrator company in the Egyptian Market. He was also the vice president of Protrac, a company specialized in advanced marketing solutions and services.

Mamdouh holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Engineering from Cairo University.
